I like all of those things, OP your sister sounds awesome. I'd love a t-shirt or sweatshirt of my favorite team (yes I have several, no you can not have too many). I like the idea of a fun snack tray. I'm sure there's a cookbook out there that specializes in something like "football watching snacks" or something like that. I'd also love a growler of beer with a gift card to get it refilled. Just make sure you get it filled right before Xmas, the beer doesn't stay good for more than a few days in most growlers.
And no I'm not fat PP. But thanks for asking! |
A lot of whole foods have bars now where you can refill growlers. Does she have a WF nearby? An Amazon prime subscription would be good too. |
Good or beer of the month club |
Maybe some signed sports memorabelia? Photo, football, postef, etc. Get it in a display case or frame.
My brother is a huge giants fan, got him a framed signed pister one year, he put it right up on the wall in tv room. If you are local, try House of Cards in silver spring. |
Does she like the Redskins? They are at the top of the division right now, so maybe buy some playoffs tickets?
(Admittedly, I am not a football fan, so I don't know if this works--DCUFootball Fans might have better insight about how to do this). |

It is a craft beer of the month club |
Don't get play off tickets. That division is a mess (I'm an Eagles fan). If they lose Saturday, they might not go to the play offs and then you sister is not only disappointed about that, but also didn't really get a present after all. |
For people who buy whatever they want, you get them an interesting gift that they haven't heard of before, or you pick up a regional specialty while traveling. It's a bit late in the year for the latter, unless your have a local distillery, so just find something niche within her interests. I'd probably find a specialty spice mix for chicken wings, or something like that. |
Go into Dick's Sporting Goods store. Lots of ideas there. Ask a salesperson there for ideas. |
OP, your disdain for your sister drops off your title. How about you give her an experience gift (football game maybe?) that you do with her?
I like to do the same things as your sister except I am married. I'd love a jersey of my team. |
+1 |
I don't see disdain in the title, only a description! It could be that her sister is very different than she is and she just doesn't know what would be a fun gift. She's looking for good ideas and sorting out those that would not be kind (like restaurant gift cards when friends are no longer as available). I think she's trying to do right by her sister! |
Surely one of her married friends would get together with her for dinner. Especially if she's paying with a gift card. |
If someone likes food, drink and a sport, gifts for them are amazingly EASY. I can't believe this is even a thread. |
