Your kids sound quite old, why are you not using aftercare and not dealing with this passive aggressive and likely expensive nanny? |
OP just wanted to say good luck on your performance review today. Hope your week gets better. ![]() |
We are a little tired of our schedule being dictated by the Nanny as well. Lots of sick days, extra vacay.... We love her but it's pretty bad that our bosses know that when we are 'sick' it's really her who's decided to take a day. |
OP, quit whining. You can afford a nanny. Go away with your tissue box LOL |
Hey OP, good luck today and in your morning review. No one should go into the holidays so beat down. I hope you're able to find a reprieve and a full box of Kleenex. |
Thanks! I appreciate this post as I start my day. ![]() |
I have two preschoolers, so not ready for aftercare just yet. Half day preschool. |
That's the difference between having a good/great nanny and an ok/bad nanny. A good nanny will make your life easier and you don't worry about anything. A bad nanny will make your life more difficult. Unfortunately, there are many nannies out there that aren't great or even good. |
I have so many days like this and feel your pain. |
Then who cares about getting homework done? |
It sounds like she has three kids. The eldest had homework. Because of the two younger ones, aftercare isn't really an option. OP, I hope you have a terrific morning, and a much better day. Hugs! |
OP, go confidently into your annual review. Be positive and upbeat.
Then, look for a new nanny. We have a wonderful nanny who would never pull a stunt like this. They're out there. Good luck in your nanny search. |
What is it with DCUM, always so quick to exert their minimal power by firing nannies/cleaners for slights that are not persistent? How would you feel if YOUR job did this?
Finding a nanny who loves your kids and you trust with your children is not always easy. Replacing them at the drop of a hat (especially if your children have bonded) is not cool. OP, for the new year, come up with a leave plan and put it in writing. Have the nanny sign. For persistent abuse of the plan, act accordingly. |
OP, isn't it is possible that youv'e been so overwhelmed lately that you jsut forgot about the nanny's change of dates? |
Can you sign up for a backup childcare program? My employer offers a service and we just pay a "co-pay" for an in network nanny or drop off center if an emergency comes up. And I wouldn't necessarily jump to firing the nanny if you otherwise like her, but a shared Google calendar and an annual review discussing her job duties (like getting HW done or whatever) might be a good way to start the new year. |
