Yea or nay, holiday card for admissions office?

We had our tour and interview at one school last week. I used our Holiday Card to write the thank you. I did not send a holiday card to the other schools we are applying to as those thank yous were sent last month in a timely fashion.

,

I did same. But since OP had already sent Thank you note another communication/holiday card is totally unnecessary and reeks of sucking up.

Even if I strongly disliked the other parents and didn't want them at the same school as us, I would never, ever EVER tell them this was even slightly a good idea. I promise you, if you do this you will look back one day and cringe at yourself. It would be the equivalent of looking at the polaroid photo of you from childhood where your mom put you in a brown and orange plaid suit with a matching cap. Just wrong.

Completely agree with this. I cringed for OP when I read the post.

Don't do it.

Please no! Your intentions are good but you will come across as a brown nose. It is lovely to thank them but a Christmas card is too much.

I'm the poster here. Maybe that's why I got a thank you email back because no one is doing this and the staff liked it!

I did not even send a thank you note for the open house. It seemed weird to me. Guess my kid's out.

OMG don't do it. How desperate do you have to be?!

I didn't either. A thank you note for an OPEN HOUSE? How pathetic is that? As if they hosted it just for us...

I guess you are supposed to? I did have my child email the person she shadowed and thank them. Was I also supposed to send a thank you to the admissions office for her shadow day?

OP, go ahead , but do it by email and be sure to openly copy all of your friends in POTUS Admin just to send the message of who you are and , yes, copy the development office staff.
