schools with openings now

I do not know anything about Sheridan, but schools vary from grade level to level. At the moment, Burgundy is more than full in third grade. As the PP said, that could change during the summer before 4th begins.... Back to the Sheridan question: depends on the waitlist for each grade.... and things are perhaps shifting more than usual this year.

I heard from one of the PTA heads this weekend that Norwood is fully enrolled.

Schools that are fully enrolled right now might not be come June or July after their binding date. I've spoken to lots of friends who work are various fantastic independent schools and they all say that things look good right now but parents still have until the binding date to pull out. I would suggest that the OP call around to all the schools they are interested in closer to when they are ready to move. They might have a lot more options than they do right now.

Lowell and WES still have spots. Anyone else know of any?

How do you know that Lowell and WES have openings? I know people who were rejected at Lowell? I know WES has open enrollment and taking applications but that doesnt' mean they have spots. Also what grades are you talking about for both? Thanks

PP, as you noted, some grade levels may be full, while others have openings. (And it is possible some were rejected because they are not a good fit.)

Anyone know of preschool spots at schools that have upper grades as well?

As of a few weeks ago, current parents were told that Lowell has openings in preschool and some grades (probably 4-6, I know that the JK, K, 1 and 2 are full). You may try there.

Doesn't have upper grades, but St. Columba's preschool in NW DC has spots.

I have three boys, rising 4th, rising 2nd, and rising K. We are very interested in Catholic schools (co-ed or all boys) that offer strong academics and religion ed. Does anyone have any recommendations? We seem to like the Bethesda, Chevy Chase areas for a possible home, so schools nearby are ideal. Also, any good resources for sports sign ups for my boys? Thank you so much!
