Gift returning etiquette?

Why bother storing it?

You guys cannot make her stop giving gifts anymore than she can make you want to receive them. Accept that fact and move on.

Yup. It would totally make sense for her to listen to you and take what you're asking for at face value, but there's really nothing you can make her do/not do. So then you have to decide what to do when the inevitable gift arrives.

It sounds like it's worth investigating the possibility of returning your qvc item. I've been pleasantly surprised by some stores' return leniency for unwanted gifts - even monogrammed ones. (e.g. giant spongy pottery barn kids chair for a tiny condo child's bedroom)
