I was having the hanging browser issue myself and was desperately hoping that it was happening on other sides so that it wouldn't be a "DCUM issue". But, no other site that I tried had a similar problem. I tried relaunching my browser, restarting the iPad, etc., but nothing worked. Then, I turned on an ad blocker and there were no problems. So, it was pretty easy to pin the issue on ads. But, determining which ad is a near impossibility. I turned off a bunch and will wait an hour or so and turn some back on. I'll just trial and error until I can narrow the problem down.

I was on at 6am and my iPad was freezing on the recent topics page. If went back and cleared my cookies/history on safari, it would work again but only for a minute before it froze again |

This happens to me a LOT also, started a few weeks ago. I have to give up on DCUM often because it crashes my browser (no matter which browser I use) so much |
It crashes your desktop browser? I think this problem is limited to mobile devices. There was another issue affecting desktops last week, but I found the cause of that and stopped it. |
People, don't use this site through your phone, it is much easier to simply get on a PC to use it. Boom, problem solved. |

I just got a "report" asking whether we use the same ads as Earthlink because this same problem is occurring with Earthlink. I don't know what ad networks Earthlink uses, but it's possible. Normally, ad networks serve ads from other networks. So, I might use Network A which also serves ads from Networks B, C, and D. Earthlink might use Network E, which also serves ads from Network B. If Network B is problematic, we will both server those ads.

Yes, I get a "sad face" and a message that the page has stopped responding then it gives me the option to "wait" or "kill page" when I'm in Chrome. I've also tried using Explorer and Firefox, and basically the same thing happens. The page will just stop responding, then the browser goes blank. I'm on a Dell desktop. I occasionally pull up DCUM on my Android phone, but have never had it happen on there. Thanks Jeff! ![]() |
When is the last time this happened? This sounds like a different problem and one that may be related to connectivity. If this happens again, please post asap (if you can) to let me know so I can gather troubleshooting data. |
