I haven't found them to be -- but I'm a T-zone person. They don't dry out my cheeks -- which tend toward being dry... and my nose/chin/forehead area is oily (as it sounds like OP's daughter is as well based on the black heads). My daughter has lovely little girl skin, except where it is pimply and blackhead-y. They work for her. I think there are two different versions of the clearasil pads. One is "ultra" and it has the salicilic acid and the regular version does not. We (I'm in my 40's and DD is 11) use the regular, not the ultra. It works. Worth a try. |
"worked for us" "I still have black heads at 40" Really? |
That's not helpful. If you are prone to blackheads, you can never really get them to completely go away. Some products can help to minimize them. Source: 37 years with an oily t-zone. |
| I have very dry skin, not oily at all, and still have blackheads in the corners of my nose. My derm says it's probably because the pores are so small that they trap any dirt and don't easily release it. Going to try that charcoal soap, just on the nose, to see if I can get it to release the blackheads. When you have dry skin, you really can't use the salicylic products and other harsh cleansers made for acne prone/oily skin. "Steamin' and squeezin'" is probably going to be the best bet for me. |

I have oily and dry and acne-prone and sensitive skin. I can't use salicylic acid on most of my skin, but the Paula's Choice 2% BHA on a cotton pad did wonders for my nose and chin. It's very gentle.
