what are you kidding? Do you expect it to be sober/celibate?
The answer is no. |
|
OP here.
No I don't know the parents. I'm less concerned about sex than about drinking, etc. Sounds like most people are more concerned about the former? |
| Hell no. Of course they are going to screw around, they are 15! |
|
Nope, my child would not be attending.
|
| No. And at that age, even when they say it is not co-ed .... the boys are lurking somewhere. Oh, the stories of our youth. |
| If your child is hanging with the type of crowd that you'd be the only parent objecting, then hell yes I'd be MORE inclined to object!! Clearly they are used to being unsupervised and allowed to do what they please. Not the environment I want for my child. Luckily my DD and I have an open enough relationship that allows me to voice my opinions and she is respectful of that. She may not agree - and I do encourage her to tell me when and why she thinks I'm a stodgy old lady - but that helps me understand her and her to understand me and accept my rules. |
OP again. I have boys, not girls. Not that I think that should matter particularly, but just FYI. |
|
In my experience it's to cover up drinking. All the times my kid has attempted to get me to say yes to this, it was a party where the parents provided alcohol.
No way. (And you are not the only one. I guarantee.) |
|
No. Guarantee there will be alcohol in some way shape or form. Either the parents or someone will bring it in. Or both. Which will lead to sex or near-sex.
Just a bad idea all around. |
| Hellllll no |
|
Not only alcohol, probably drugs too, either illegal or prescription, kids abuse both.
Stop the denial, OP, face it: they're going to be drinking and at least one of the kids will bring pot, X, or Ritalin for recreational use. |
Not all kids do drugs. Or drink. Although drinking seems more likely, but this seems like a bit of a stretch. |

Read this story for a good reason why to say no:
http://www.bethesdamagazine.com/Bethesda-Magazine/November-December-2015/A-Mothers-Heartbreak-Heroins-Toll-in-Montgomery-County/ They deleted some comments, but basically one of the people who died of an overdose was known as a house where there were parties and his mother was there allowing alcohol and worse. |
More like group sex. |
You don't think that's already pretty late for a 15 yr old? I had an earlier curfew than that when I was 17. |
