My kid is 12.5 and goes trick or treating without me. She'll eat a shit-ton tonight, and encouraged to brush her teeth very well.
I assume on Monday she'll bring her candy to school to trade with friends and such, and I will be reminding her firmly to brush well and floss each night. |
I might do this too. |
| As much as they want on Halloween night. They can have a handful after dinner every night as long as they eat their meal. |
| Probably too much tonight. One piece a day in lunch boxes. Anything left at Thanksgiving is tossed. Oh and "100% daddy tax". He gets a piece every time they do.. Kids are older. |
| As much as they want. They'll learn the way I did to listen to their body through some trial and error. What's the worst that can happen from a bit too much candy? I see no need to regulate this. |
| They can eat what they want on Halloween night. Then they separate out 20 pieces to keep each and we donate the rest to the troops. Tomorrow their school is collecting it all to send to the troops. |
+1. All of us are it for breakfast. |
| Our dentist told us that the worst thing to do is dole out a price or two a day until it is gone - cavities! He said let me finish it all in a couple of days and then toss. |
| 15 pieces to be eaten whenever he wants (usually all at once), and I pay cash for the rest. |
I let them eat a few pieces last night. Today, my 7 and 4 year old are eating 7 and 4 pieces respectively (a piece for each year). Mostly, we only went to about 20 houses, so if they eat everything it's not a big deal. We regulate how much is collected and it's much easier!
Today, we laid all the candy out and basically strongly suggested they give a few pieces to the adults...teaching them sharing and getting a few treats! In the end, it will be about 30 pieces of candy total. Not too bad, and they'll probably forget about it in a few days.
|
| The kids get to keep a certain amount (it used to be 20 pieces when they were little, now it's like 35)... mom and dad take a few pieces and the rest goes to the office. |
| I don't have a policy. DS eats as much as he wants Halloween night. He sort of loses interest after that - if I put it up, he pretty much forgets about it. |
| Unregulated. There's also an option to sell (to me, not each other!) non-chocolate items at 5 cents each, chocolate for 10 cents each. |
| All has been sorted and traded amongst children. Each put what they didn't like/had too much of aside for donation at school tomorrow. Bag of Snickers into the freezer for use in an apple pie creation for Christmas. Our own leftovers being sent to work with DH. The rest they can eat until it's gone or they don't care for it anymore. They didn't get buckets full to begin with so we let them enjoy. |
| No certain number, but after several wrappers were sitting in front of them, I stopped them lat night. Today they are doing the same thing. Tomorrow it will be out of sight and they will taper down until they essentially forget about it. We still have candy from last Halloween (that I will throw away today.) |
