| Your title is incorrect, she didn't get an abortion. She said Vitter asked her to get one but she instead had the baby and gave it up for adoption. |
That changes everything!
|
The point is, behind closed doors, he demanded she abort the baby - totally counter to his public stance and his legislative record which have been vehemently and viciously anti-abortion. That makes him a liar and a fraud. And frankly, every time from here on out that some GOP congressman attacks Planned Parenthood or tries to restrict abortion, the rest of us will be wondering if he too is a fraud and a liar with some secret abortion skeleton in his own closet. |
Every time I hear some anti-choice moron make vituperative comments, I assume their mistress or their daughter has had an abortion. I have read way too many stories of even "civilian" anti-choicers crossing the harassment line, getting an abortion, and resuming harassment the next day. |
Well, of course! Because they have a GOOD REASON and they're not one of those amoral sluts who are using abortion as a regular means of birth control. |
| Your logic is astounding. Is Anthony Weiner or ted Kennedy (Chappaquiddick) representative of all liberal democrats relations with women? Its always exciting when a pol of any stripe gets caught being a hypocrite and I can see you're very excited, but this guy is representative of all conservative Republicans in your dreams... |
So are rich liberals |
Here's the difference: Republicans tend to hold themselves up as the moral authority...especially this anti-choice conservative who had an affair and pushed his prostitute mistress into having an abortion. Dems, on the other hand, don't use religion and political wedge issues like abortion as tools to highlight their political character. This is a simple fact. Period. |

Mark Sanford
John Ensign Was Vitter part of the same blackhole of morality known as the "Family"? |
| I saw Vtter on true deceive first season....that season was based on the rumors about Vitter. |
Quit pretending not to get it. Nobody is saying Vitter's pushing his prostitute/mistress for an abortion = ALL Repugs try to push their mistresses into abortions. The point being, he is a hypocrite who promotes an anti-choice agenda, and gets elected partly due to his agenda, but turns out to be downright PRO-ABORTION when it benefits himself. |
Really? Dems dont feel righteous about their ethics? Puh leeze |
It does change everything in regards to the woman involved. She is just as much involved as Vitter and to wantonly misrepresent her to make Vitter look worse is disrespectful and slanderous. |
She ignored his wishes to abort and actually birthed the child, dummy. Then she came forward herself and dropped this information, because she is terminally ill. Who's slandering her? And, uh, how much worse can Vitter look? He pays prostitutes for sex, enjoys being diapered by them and is pro-abortion when it comes to the clumps of cells he is responsible for procreating. Why defend this creep? You need to be asking yourself why your loyalty to the GOP is causing you to defend someone who wanted to abort his own fetus. |
were they going to vote for him absent this information? |
