clothing for curvy 8 year old

Anonymous
8 yr olds are not curvy they are heavy set.

In your DD's case, it's best to stick with leggings or jeggings with tunics and longer shirts

Hanna Anderson like a PP suggested is a good place to look.

Ugh, I know this is old, but FYI parents who lean towards this thinking... I started getting boobs and hips at 8.5 (surprisingly didn't get my period until almost 13). Since people seemed to think the only 8-y-o's with boobs were "fatties" with "man boobs," I got a complex about my weight (which was fine). I turned out to be a very curvy woman with current measurements of ~39-28-43. THAT'S JUST THE WAY SOME BODIES ARE.

(I won't start on how I waited until I was married to have sex in part because I was always assumed to be a "slut" based on nothing more than my body shape. Ugh.)

I'm glad i found this question and some helpful replies! I'm also disappointed at all the rude, unnecessary, unhelpful and shameful replies to what some parents struggle with when they're kids are not overweight or plus sized but have wider hips and maybe a bigger butt. I know this is almost 10 years old but i hope some of y'all anonymous responders have grown a little more compassionate and show more constraint whenever you have an opinion.

Get her fitted for a good bra with a lot of support.
The Children's Place has a lot of Plus sized clothes. She can try to size up. My kid wears larger-sized cropped leggings so they are not too long and look like regular legging on her.

Usually kids don’t really have figures so it’s tough to find clothes to fit them. Joggers are perfect for this body type. Look at athletic wear, they usually have elastic waists and are comfortable. I’d stay away from Jeans, they are too difficult to get the right fit.

Stay away from the cheap clothing like Old Navy. Better cut clothing will be more flattering

My kid has a waist and hips, and Target is usually good. I agree that joggers are good if possible; otherwise look for high-waist styles. This year (age 11) she can finally wear ladies XS crops as full length pants and it has opened up some options. But yeah, the years from 8-12 are hard because the clothes that fit her height assume she's built like a toddler.

NP here but some kids have much more defined butts and waists than others. Boys and girls.

But curvy would never be used to describe a boy's figure.

Because girls have estrogen that give them breasts and hips. You don't understand this?

Pear shaped unless she got hooters.

How can you say she is curvy? She’s 8.

So you’re saying she has an hourglass waist with wide hips and boobs at 8 years old? That’s what curvy means

I have a hard time believing this is OP is for real because Children's Place is notorious for clothing that is too wide! If that brand isn't wide enough, your child needs to see a doctor.
