there are a few different services being discussed on this thread: (1) A termite bait station with annual monitoring fee (what I believe OP was quoted for) is the most costly, (2) a warranty (which is just a visual inspection for termites costs ~$100 annually) and (3) an annual pest control contract for things like ants and roaches. These are all very different services offered by pest control companies, hence the wide range of price quotes.
