That is tough for a preschooler who has had good relationships with their preschool teachers. They give you individual attention.
In Kindergarten, they do things in groups of 4-6, not individual teaching. But, they assess each child individually. No teacher will sit with your child one-one-one to give a lesson without other kids present. That's called private tutoring. That's for those who might have an issue with something, like speech or language or some other issue. The teacher stresses independence in a group meeting we had. That means make sure your kid knows how to entertain, socialize and teach themselves some things. The one-on-one seem to do the opposite of that. Plus, kindergarteners think they are still the center of attention. |
| Yes, and when the teachers give you individual attention it's not good attention either. The only things our DS's K teacher ever said to him last year were all negative. He was very good at keeping track. |
