No kidding. |
| My uncle, who was an agent for a long time, looked like Christopher reeve |
I tried Blood and Oil and couldn't bring myself to give a shit. It seemed like a modern-day Western, with vaguely hot people. |
| Can someone sum up the "Mormon thing" and why a Mormon person would find it offensive? One of my (Mormon) friends on Facebook posted vaguely about it last night, but I didn't want to ask since it seemed to upset her. I didn't watch the show, so I have no idea. Also, I am not Mormon, but know a fair amount about the religion. |
SPOILER ALERT!!!! A character on the show is Mormon. He apparently went on a mission, pre-FBI, had relations with a 14 yr old in that country, she got pregnant, he took her for an abortion, she died and he never told anyone. |
They really didn't go into the Mormonism aspect, but it was clear the character was supposed to be a Mormon. They could have easily made him anything, but the show introduces the new recruits as though there really would be this huge variety--nerdy NY Jewish guy, Muslim woman from a fly-over state, upper-crusty Middleburg horse farm-esque tall blond, etc. Basically, it helps you keep track of who is who if you can't remember the characters' names, which I couldn't. |

Just watched the 1st 2 episodes, so far I really like it!
It's fun to watch even though you know it's stretches reality quite a bit- like Scandal. Entertaining, good looking cast, interesting story line with twists that make me want to watch it next week. |
VERY shaky. I have nothing against random plots, but then I'd rather see zombies rather than FBI stereotypes. |
|
I like it. Totally a guilty pleasure though. Some of the acting is pretty cheesy (although the dialogue isn't helping the actors) and the plot line is ridiculous.
I'm pretty sure this show is as accurate a portrayal of the FBI as Grey's Anatomy was for real ERs and Law and Order is for real courtrooms. Doesn't mean it's not entertaining though! |
Ain't that the truth. On TV, really the only thing you need to fight crime, practice law, or save lives is GREAT HAIR. |
|
If they didn't look beautiful with great hair and makeup, you'd be complaining about it being hollywood -- couldn't they have picked someone prettier?
|
Nothing wrong with having attractive actors as long as a.) they can act and b.) there face isn't so full of Botox that their faces can't register a basic emotion. Yes, we all "suspend our belief" but when the actor playing a police detective looks more like she should be playing a working girl...it's annoying At least button your damn blouse woman! And don't pretend you're running down NYC streets chasing bad guys in those heels. |
Castle is another show that went down the drain...same as Scandal. |

But it's so unrealistic. The women have enlarged lips, skinny thighs, boobs bouncing, perfect hair and false eyelashes on. One of them is a former Miss World. It just sends all the wrong messages to our culture. |
