Amen to that OP.

The way you articulated yourself in the situation was excellent. Once that awkwardness was out of the way, it was nice that you both could converse now that the "Elephant" had exited the room.

Just because there was no sexual compatibility there, didn't mean that you & your date could not enjoy drinks together as you chat about other things.

It doesn't always have to end in acrimony.

I think your friend is one of those women who just ghosts even after dating for two months. I think women should be on their guard with guys for their safety. But I think you did the smart thing by disarming the whole situation.
