The flu vaccine isn't good anyway. Sure if you are a high risk patient go ahead - but even then don't expect the vaccine to actually be effective. The flu likes it's mutations. It's the ONE vaccine to not try and talk anyone into. Not being allowed to attend school if not vaccinated against the flu is ridiculous. Oh USA...

I also doubt it's the case here, but my mom and several other teachers I know taught through immuno-suppressing cancer treatments because they had to in order to feed, shelter, and clothe their children. So, yes, not a good idea to teach then, but some people don't have the luxury if quoting jobs just because they are susceptible to the flu.

Before you go bashing everyone who believes in vaccines I don't think this has been confirmed as the actual problem...I've never heard of the flu vaccine being required in any school district. I think it's pretty obvious that this was probably a case of the child misunderstanding and since the OP is obviously an anti-vaxer (yikes!!!) she jumped on the teacher without having the full information. Since she hasn't returned to respond I think we can assume she's either a troll or an idiot. Her 1st post was rather inarticulate so you decide what you to think....

Don't believe every word that comes out of your kids mouth. If the shot is required, a note would come home. If the teacher expressed an opinion supported by many in the science community, just move on of you don't agree.

Wow. How was this child able to come to your house if you had that rule? Did the mom lie about Larla having gotten a flu shot?

Basically, the mother lied. Or technically, did not tell the truth.

Me too. And it was one hell of a doozy of a flu too. "Oh, the vaccine doesn't prevent that strain". So please explain why I got the shot again!?!

I feel as though those shots weaken my immune system or something.
