I just stepped on a toad- can wildlife rescue centers help?

OP if the road was seriously injured and now you've introduced a new environment...it will very likely die from shock.

It wasn't seriously injured, I would say- as much as having two of four legs broken isnt serious. Doesnt appear to be damaged in any way other than that. Can still move around fairly easily (though it has trouble jumping for obvious reasons) and kind of drags itself around. Seems to have a lot of energy

Hope the toad doesn't retain counsel.

Could you try giving the toad a gentle massage?

Then, try to set its legs with tightly wrapped gauze and maybe some cotton wrapped toothpicks or tips.

try to make a small chariot type cart, perhaps with Legos, then place the toad's lower half the on the flat bed area. At least the toad can propel itself around more efficiently.

Try giving liquids/water via an eye dropper 1x two hours.

Wake the toad for the water feedings. At hour four, add 1 part sugar to four parts water and double dosage/2x every two hours.

Install light bulb no more than 60 watt at top of terrarium. This will act as a sun lamp.

Open toad's mouth every 1/2 and drop in any insect.

Do you have a mini heart monitor?

I would just about die of shock if I stepped on a toad, esp in bare feet.

My cat licked a toad and had frog mouth for days.

We used to live in a town that had frog weeks where so many came out it was like driving the road slick with frog guts.

So you have any xanax or valium? Give him one of those.

I'm thinking of you Op. How is the patient today?

Were you able to find a wildlife rehab to help you?

He survived the night! He hasn't eaten any of the crickets, as far as I can tell, but he went to the bathroom in the terrarium. I considered cleaning it up for him but he gets very stressed whenever I even look into the terrarium or approach it, so I am leaving it there for right now.

I found a wildlife rescue center that will take him! Going to bring him there now- I hope they can make him a little brace for his legs

A toad is not a frog.

Wow!

There are Syrian refugees, including children, who are helpless and in desperate straits .......... and you are concerned about a toad?
