Are you talking about National Merit Finalists? Sorry, I find it hard to believe that PG had only four National Merit finalists. I went to high school school in Podunkville, WV, and our high school alone had more than 4 National Merit Finalists. I don't think PG County, which has 700,000 people, would only have 4, no matter how much people on this board like to slam PG. |
I don't understand your argument. If your child is thriving, then why not release the scores for the county? I don't see what one has to do with the other. I think the argument the PP was making is that by not releasing the report, the county looks like it's trying to hide something or that they are puposely brushing difficult issues under the rug by ignoring the numbers. I don't think anyone is saying NO child gets a 4.0 in the county and NO child from PG goes on to recieve a great higher education. PG needs to mirror the other counties in order to show it can play with the big boys. This has nothing to do with individual children not being taken seriously. |
| You can't handle the truth! Don't ask for numbers you can't handle. |
It goes by state so WV has a lower score. PG kids have MC and Baltimore area strong scoring kids in their state. |
If your kid has a 4.0, strong SAT and is African American go for the top ivy schools!!! |
And take up one of the sweet Affirmative action spots. |
Doubt that spot is available, a white female probably has it on lock. Just like they and their white husbands do when it comes to "minority" contracts |
Don't me wrong I agree with you. Should be known to the public; honestly I though it was already available for anyone to see. Didn't realize it wasn't. |
| It used to be on each school's website that you get to through pgcps.org on their "Report Card" - it looks like the links to the report card are down right now, but if they come back up, they were on there for a long time. |
| The new "Report Card" wont be released until October I think (goes for the entire state) |

This is OP. Sorry I wasn't clear. Not the report card, something like this:

| Thanks OP- I think your post could be misinterpreted that PG county didn't even make any school's scores public, which they do, it's just done on a per school basis. I think a consolidation, like MoCo's would be nice to see as well. |
