UTI?

Didn't you ever just pee in your clothes to see what it was like? I did. I was ten. I never did it again.

You said all - how much laundry are we talking? One pair of underwear and shorts, no big deal. I once peed on myself because I was distracted and literally forgot to take my underwear off.

Multiple items of clothing, I would bring it up. She could have a UTI or something.

Ummm no. At ten I could picture what it would be like and nothing about it seemed pleasant.

One time? Don't worry. But keep an eye on her. If it's happening repeatedly it could be constipation, UTI, problem with using the bathroom at school (bullying, schedule issues, etc.), sexual abuse, diabetes, or probably lots of other reasons. Nothing you'd want to ignore.

Watch for signs of Type 1 diabetes (thirst, nausea, fatigue, weight loss).

Do you know if she wore it to bed or to school? Both? If it's not out of the question this could happen at this age. I would be most worried about embarrassment if others knew that happened.

This happened to me once at around 11, right at back to school. I remember dreaming I needed to pee and woke up peeing. I was mortified. It never happened again.

NP here -- this has happen to me probably a couple dozen times, believe it or not, over my life. I'm 50 and healthy. (except for that i guess!)

When I was that age if I laughed really hard I would start peeing. I remember several embarrassing sleepovers and camp incidents.

So maybe she Felt sleep. Bed wetting is so common for kids. One in nine 5th graders wet the bed at night.the problem would be if it wasn't at night at was doing the day

I remember 3rd grade. During service- a catholic school- a girl classmate wet herself. You could hear it. No big deal. Accidents happen.

This was my first thought too. I'd bring it up with her in a totally casual, non threatening way. Because there could be a medical reason, and UTI seems the most common/benign.

If it happened at night it could also be sign of a seizure

Happened to my daughter when she was making a mad dash to the bathroom and just couldn't hold it. It has happened to me when I try and hold it for too long (busy doing something else or hoping to make it home and use my own bathroom), Many potty dances in the car. And once you start, it is hard to stop it.
