Because it's no. 17 in the entire U.S. for aerospace engineering. Ignore the OP. The facts are all wrong. Also, when you say "acceptance rate" of 60%, you are forgetting that only 55% of the seats at Va Tech and some of the others go to Virginians, so for Virginians, the acceptance rate is really 30%. |
| Virginia Tech. is also no. 7 in Computer Science in the entire nation. http://www.networkworld.com/article/2169992/data-center/top-20-colleges-for-computer-science-majors-based-on-earning-potential.html |
Where is this information published? |
This shows why VaTech grads may not be too smart. If the OOS make up 20% of the school for example and the school's overall acceptance rate is 20%, the "real" acceptance rate for OOS student is 4%? By the way, percentage of OOS students is about 24% not 45%. http://www.collegexpress.com/lists/list/percentage-of-out-of-state-students-at-public-universities/360/ |
U.S. News & World Report Top Undergrad Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical rankings. |
Never said I was a VA tech grad. At the undergrad ENGINEERING open house last spring, the statistics put up pm screens during the crammed presentations says 55% in state, 45% OOS - that may be for only the engineering department or the entire school. It didn't matter to me because DS wants only engineering and that is the toughest school to get into. |
| Here the VA Tech engineering page says its ranking is 14 in nation. http://www.admiss.vt.edu/majors/index.php/majors/college/coe |
USNWR says 21st for Engineering: http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-engineering-schools/eng-rankings?int=a74509 70th overall: http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/page+7 |
Well the hard copy I am looking at has it at 17. Maybe you are looking at today's newest rankings. 16 is University of Washington; 17 in Virginia Tech and 18 is University of Minnesota Twin Cities. |
[/b] This ^^ is correct. PP 18:14 you are posting GRADUATE school rankings. Undergrad is at 17 or higher. |
| Sorry, meant 18:16. She is posting Graduate schools. |
| TODAY's U.S. News Aerospace/Aeronautucal/Astronautical rankings has moved up Virginia Tech to a ranking of #15 in the nation for undergrad AAA engineering. |
Wrong. Go look at today's U.S. News & World Report. |
| Vetch football has been down...it explains everything. |
That would make George Mason a half step up from community college? But VA does have a great community college system. |
