| Respect is important. I earn more than him, but he's older and semi-retired. He's accumulated more wealth, though. (We married late and kept the bulk of our assets separate.) We share expenses equitably. Since he is home more he helps more than I with the kids during the week (we're older parents) -- doctors appointments, making dinner when I'm working late, pickup from school when transportation doesn't work out. He does all that, a lot that I might do in a "normal" marriage -- I am appreciative and do what I can to take care of him in return. |
