I don't even leave the box sitting around.

HELL NO! I made the very very grave error of playing that game with my MIL and THAT was horrible.

How old are your kids? What's their reaction to some of the cards like the "dick fingers" mentioned by a PP?

That said I wouldn't let 10-13 year olds play this game, especially if they were not my kids. I would also be upset to find out my 10 year old son was doing this at someone else's house. ( I have a 10 year old son.)

Also Call of Duty or anything really violent like that or 17+, I would really hesitate.

commonsensemedia has a good app where you can check yourself.

I love the game, but I would never let kids that young play.

Ditto. Although I know my 13 y.o. has played it without me around. I am way less than thrilled about this.

I agree with you that Cards Against Humanity is most definitely for the older and more mature teenager and also that sexual material should be age appropriate, but I have to say it kind of bums me out that you're fine with your kids seeing and playing video games that are violent...it makes me sad that we as a society have accepted violence as okay, yet we can't handle sex - the most natural and basic instinct we have as humans...sigh...

12, 16, and 22. My 8 year old niece has "played" it (really, attempted to sit in on one game and got bored within about 5 minutes) as well, if an anecdotal reaction from a younger child is useful to you in any way.

The 12 year old wasn't particularly interested after the first round or two mostly because she didn't understand all the references and having someone explain them kind of took most of the fun out of the game for her.

The 16 year old and 22 year old both enjoy the game.

I don't necessarily think this is the best game for OP's listed age group, primarily because in my limited experience kids that age might not really enjoy it. However, to answer the question I see no problem with them playing it at any age and would be fine with explaining any questions it caused them to have.

OP here, thank you everyone for the feedback.

No, not until our youngest is at least 15 (he's 13 now). DW and I were going to buy a set until we saw some of the sample cards.

They've probably heard worse elsewhere, honestly, but I'm not sure most parents would appreciate it being a condoned group activity.

Wow, there are some dumb parents out there letting the kids do that stuff.

Meh. What's dumb about it? I save my battles for the truly harmful stuff, and IMO a silly game isn't it.
