It's after 9pm and Children's Hospital just called with an appt reminder

You are in bed at 9? Ok princess.

Children's has terrible customer service.

I Agree with Op. Business calls do not come after 9. I do make personal calls after about then unless I know the persons s schedule well. Its not that it is sooo late but the day seems to be winding down for most. Do orgs s hedule meetings at 9? No it is too late.

Agree that 9 is too late to call. And yes I am often asleep at 9 since I get by before 5. That said we do not have a land line anymore which I love now.

Agreed, OP.

Kennedy Krieger has a new thing where they not only call to remind you of your appointment, but you get a separate call to go over your insurance benefits with you (????). Each and every single time. Good grief.
Anonymous
OP you're an idiot.

Magic jack is cheap and I want phones around to call 911. Our cell service sucks in the house.

If you ever go to the Outer Banks, you will find numerous dead cell spots regardless who your provider is. That is why landlines exist in those houses too.

I'd be pissed. Don't call my house after 8 PM, grrrrr
Anonymous
That's annoying. And that's why we have our cell phone ringers set to go silent after 9pm. When we had a house phone, it was only in the kitchen and rec room downstairs and the ringer wouldn't bother anyone in the bedrooms.

NP, but that means they can call at a decent hour.

IT would make sense if it's a computer calling you that they would schedule at a better time. the only thing I wonder is if they contract with a Robocall company that gives better rates for later calls? (like maybe that companies has all it's 'computers' busy during working hours so it offers special rates for calling families later at night?)

Seriously, you think it's okay to call when even when telemarketers can't? You think parents of small children routinely stay up late? Rant over. I'm just kind of boggled by how stupid this is.

And one phone call will destroy your night?

How do you survive on a daily basis?

Don't you have do not disturb feature on your phone? 9pm isn't late at all.

Complain. They may be able to adjust the settings for confirmation calls to you. My doctor's office was calling me, robocalling me and emailing me appointment reminders. I once had 4 calls and emails to remind me about the same appointment. I complained and asked them to limit it to one reminder. They went into an online profile and did just that, problem fixed. I would suspect that their computer can also direct the confirmation calls to certain hours of the day as well.
