What makes you think that next spring will be better for people OOB if the wait list is that full of IB this year? I agree it's a good reach, but probably want to have some safeties. |

Where is Brightwood Park? Seriously.
Brightwood is my good friends IB school, but they live two blocks south of the 4th District police station. |
Because it isn't helpful to that they don't have a shot at something before they have even tried. Are you suggesting that the people on the list this year will just be rolled over onto the list next year and keep their same WL numbers? |
| I was the poster about the WL for West. I wasn't posting that to be a jerk or trying to discourage anyone from applying anywhere. It's more to have the whole picture. We ARE an IB family on the WL for West and it was thought to be a nice safety school. Not the case. I also know that this year prek3 lottery was crazy with the apparent Baby Boom of 2012. Next year may be different. I personally, would rather have all the information than not enough. |
Roll over - huh? Are you suggesting that there will be no new IB families looking to get in for PK3? The OP said she's OOB, so would be behind all the IB students that apply next year. If the trend continues, then there probably won't be many spaces for OOB in PK3. That said, I think it's a good choice for OP to include on her list, but to also include some safety schools (like her IB). |
