My DS was fed jarred baby food today and I never gave them permission to

Maybe OP feels disappointed that her baby experienced his/her first tastes of solid food -- a milestone -- without her? I can certainly sympathize with that feeling.

Yeah, that pretty much sucks.

But something like this is also kind of par for the course with a baby in daycare.

No need to be mean about it--it is obvious that it is upsetting but other than checking in to be sure t was an accident, there is little else to be done.

Unless it is a pattern of accidents....then start looking for new care.

I'd be more upset with them not following my wishes. I'd ask the director to have those involved review the policy in how they feed the children. My DC's school has charts that say what child can eat what food. and they are supposed to review the chart before each meal.

The baby room color coded everything for each child. All of Larla's cups and milk had blue tape, Larlo's had green.

OP stated that she sent oatmeal, a solid, to daycare with the baby. So, this wasn't the baby's first taste of solids. It was merely his first taste of carrots.

Let it go. I have kids 12 and 16. Small issue on your end. Get over it

A 6 mo eating carrots doesn't sound like an issue. Explain why you're so upset.

Aren't the carrots healthier than grains?

Grains are worthless.

I would sue them.

Also, realize how lucky you are that THIS is such a big deal to you.

What exactly is the problem with pureed carrots for a 6 month old? I'm at a loss.

Me too. I just fed my 6 mo old jarred carrots today. Also, for foods like carrots, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to use the jarred version (instead of homemade) bc of nitrates.
