OP here. Thanks for the kind words. I am losing another parent, and there is a relative on DHs side who is mean and cold as can be. Trust me, the mean and cold one will live forever. While this may sound irrational, it is true in this particular case, and it does happen to make me sad. There is a part of me that wants the mean, cold relative gone. I know it is terrible to say out loud.
