I went to West Springfield HS with Louis Bayard. He has written several works of fiction.

Margaret Truman (Daughter of Harry and Bess Truman) has written several novels based in DC

I liked The Increment best. Had mixed feelings about The Director, which I think is his most recent.

Eric Andreas, dc attorney and geologist. His book is called "origins rising" I think. Fabulous read, sci fi, and I hope he writes a sequel.

OP here. Thanks for recs! I bought & read Elliott Holt's book in three days - awesome read. And good representation of the area in that time period (I'm around the same age & grew up here too).
