| I agree. I would hope that the City Council would take immediate action and not whine that it would be too hard to make sure our children received healthy meals and that taxpayers had their hard earned money spent wisely. |
| I don't think DCPS sued - the whistleblower was the one who sued, I believe. |
| Bowser is a hack. |
|
E-mail Robert Jaber too - Director, Food and Nutrition Services; Office of the Chief Operating Officer; DCPS

The whistleblower sued because he was retaliated against (fired) from DCPS. Turns out his allegations were correct and DCPS gained millions from a lawsuit which he will now get a minimum percentage. |
i was so disgusted that i didn't even read through to the end. this is deplorable!!! the behaviour - not the article. |
| It's the DC way. Fix middle schools? Nah, it's too hard and we should let charters pick up the slack because they do it better. Debar Chartwells and find a trustworthy vendor? Nah, we might have to take time from our summer break, just think of the kids in summer school who won't not be eating their crappy meals. |
The article is dated July 3rd. Guess they were planning on posting tomorrow? |
That's the date of the City Paper print edition, I'd imagine. For anyone who hasn't read the article, I would highly recommend you do so. Just disgusting. |
That at least partially explains why Anthony DeGuzman left abruptly and basically went into exile. Kaya needs to follow him |
Thanks for clarifying. I read it and am totally disgusted as well. Why can't DCPS use the other two vendors Revolution Foods or the other one to take over the contract? |
| Chartwell MUST GO. And so too should everyone involved in firing the whistleblower. |
| WOW! Unbelievable. |
|
“Discerning parents want the best for their babies,” Bowser said, as Bowser listed various initiatives—none of them related to nutrition.
I hate Bowser & Henderson so much. |
