i made the goddard comment and am a real live parent whose child went to goddard from 6m-2.5. sorry if you disagree but it was way better than the fed, NAEYC center. way better. not even in the same league.

I can't be the only one who now thinks every post that mentions Goddard is sock puppet lady from yesterday.

Yesterday just confirmed what I've suspected for years - Goddard has a strategy of placing fake reviews online. Do a search for other Goddard mentions on this board - many of the positive mentions have the same canned style. (There are also some that appear legit - but enough canned ones to turn me off of Goddard entirely.)

What it does mean is that the board and GSA do everything they can to make the place look great on the days of inspection. Remember, it is the workers that are with the kids every day.

So, a Montessori GSA center is impossible? That's odd.

NAEYC accreditation is much more than a single visit, it's not about "looking great on the days of inspection". You have to provide documentation of many things across the school year, ranging from staff qualifications to the locations of your bathrooms to the types of communication you have with parents.

I agree that it's quite possible for a center to be wonderful and not have NAEYC accreditation. I also agree that the quality of staff that matters the most. But in this case it sounds like a staff member is either dishonest, or careless and didn't notice that accreditation has expired. Either of those would raise red flags for me.

Just an update: our center is now listed on the web site. So it looks like it was an error by NAEYC.
