NAEYC accreditation is much more than a single visit, it's not about "looking great on the days of inspection".  You have to provide documentation of many things across the school year, ranging from staff qualifications to the locations of your bathrooms to the types of communication you have with parents.

I agree that it's quite possible for a center to be wonderful and not have NAEYC accreditation.  I also agree that the quality of staff that matters the most.  But in this case it sounds like a staff member is either dishonest, or careless and didn't notice that accreditation has expired.  Either of those would raise red flags for me.[/quote]
