There's another list here with some good stuff.
http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/332836.page The Dixie Chicks covering Dylan's "Mississippi" is one of my all-time favorites. |
Maria McKee singing Wichita Lineman, that woman has a voice like an angel. |
When I Was Your Man -- Thomas Rhett
Can't Stop a Loving You -- Keith Urban |
This is the truth. |
Freelance Whales -- Girl U Want (originally by Devo). Fascinating re-do of that song.
Also love Gary Jules, Mad World, as a PP already listed. |
Just remembered the lovely version Adele did of Lovesong. |
Johnny Cash's ANYTHING on The Man Comes Around American IV album.
His bridge over troubled water makes me cry. Literally, just cry for no reason. I play it for my son all the time. |
Yeah, I like that version its kind of smokey ![]() |
Did you see Keith's live "Its a mans world" performance? For some reason I never really love his stuff (my mom LOOOOOOVES him) but he's so damn talented that its hard to not notice. Also your post kind of reminds me how closely r&b songs and country songs can be- all those Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers collaborations back in the day make so much sense. |
Don't let the sun go down on my by George Michael. The difference between his voice and Elton John's is so striking. George Michael is an operatic singer. |
There is a cover that one of the American idol people did of a Michael Jackson song that is amazing. |
I still love me some George Michael. That 2 disc album he did was great |
\ Much agreed. |
