Bake cookies with her and invite two friends for a Tea party service the cookies she helped make.

Our nanny used to take kids to a toy store and let them pick something out. I never suggested it, but the kids all loved getting to select their own present.

The Klutz craft books are great! the Twisted Critters one was our DD's favorite and became our go-to gift for 6 yo birthdays. It's the one with the pipe cleaner animals.

The Klutz brand pot holder and lanyard books are always a hit, too.

22.08 Nanny here. I love this idea so much. What about making snowflake cookies and decorating them with shredded coconut?

+1 on a special experience or day. It's basically free and kids love it.

Another idea: if she doesn't have a library card, help her sign up for one. My kids felt very important when they got their own library cards. She could check out her first book and you could read it together.

The issue with that is that most libraries won't allow a nanny to get their charge a card unless the nanny has temporary or limited custody. It's supposed to be parents and guardians only due to the financial responsibility and the libraries' policies on not censoring books.
~Nanny that has limited custody, for this sort of thing, medical, school, etc.

What about taking her to all fired up or color me whatever in virginia--they are pottery painting places.

Take her, let her pick out something to paint.
Experience and she'll have an awesome keepsake from it.
