Especially UMD, that school is definitely not elite.

Semi-elite: Cal, UCLA, Michigan, Georgetown, JHU, Carnegie Mellon, Emory, Vandy

Northwester, Swarthmore, Pomona, Duke? I don't think so.

Swat is a peer to williams and amherst - aws are clearly the top 3 lac's and elite. Pomona is the strongest LAC in the west and the toughest one to get into in the country.

Northwestern and Duke are peers to Penn in pretty much everything minus Wharton.

That's a big minus, bro.

I agree, especially if you are a high performing AA. These are very selective schools.

The top Wall Street, Tech, and Consulting companies recruit from these schools for diverse talent. Recruiters know there is top talent who choose to go to a HBCU over a "majority" school (because of finances, awareness, culture, etc.) Hitting these 3 schools to get a nice pool of candidates beats going to 20 other HBCU schools weeding through to get the same number.

I know this because I "recruit" exec talent for a fortune 50 company.
