| I'd buy (or pick) a ton of vine ripened tomatoes and spend all day making Sunday gravy. But then again, I'm Italian. |
But you can't do that when you are on your period- it will spoil the sauce. |
Beef bourguignon was my first idea. Maybe with a loaf of fresh bread. I love baking bread, but it can take a while. Do you have a smoker? Ribs.... |
Hahaha... this is an awesome idea though. I'm stealing it. I'm *not* Italian so it will just be sauce ((( No special family recipe for me.

+1 Just bought a new Dutch oven and I can't wait for fall so I can spend a day in the kitchen making cassoulet |
| Homemade pasta |
I did this once. It was amazing. |
Here are a couple online recipes for inspiration. I used tomatoes from my garden last time-- took another 90 minutes or so. Shock them in ice to peel easier. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/North-End-Sunday-Gravy/Detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=sunday%20gravy&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Home%20Page&soid=sr_results_p1i2 http://allrecipes.com/recipe/meat-gravy/ |
That North End Sunday gravy recipe sounds amazing! And I love calling it "gravy" -- so Sopranos.

Authentic spanish tortilla where you fry the potatoes into soft, etc. Makes a great big mess too so you will have clean up time!
Or homemade raviolis. |
| Agree with handmade pasta. |
| Many many different kinds of Dim Sum. |
| Maine lobster pancakes with pea shoot salad and ginger-carrot emulsion |
| This sounds like a heavenly plan! |
| Cassoulet. That is a project, but I'm not a huge fan of the dish. My choice would be Julia Child's Boeuf Bourguignonne. It seems more complicated than it is because she breaks down each step in painstaking detail. Made correctly, it is spectacular. |
