If the blood was dark, that probably means something internal. If it was bright red that probably means an external injury, scrape, cut. Just fyi. |

Thanks PPs. It was pink blood after she urinated. Will follow-up with ped. I am going down a bad path of "is this precocious puberty" or "is it an endocrine disorder".

UTI is most likely cause of light spotting at that age (assuming no external explanation). Almost certainly nothing to worry about; bet your ped gives you a course of abx. |

Did you guys eat beets recently? I just saw a Royal Pains where they had a patient with pink pee, and it was due to beet drinks. If she went to a party with a red Elmo cake or something, that could also do it. (Blue dye turns the poop a really vivid shade of green, I've found...).
