Unauthorized synthroid dosage

Try taking synthroid at bedtime, ( after a gap of a few hours from your last meal). The synthroid is used more effectively by your body if you have it at bedtime.

I think that you may find that 100 mg will be sufficient.

My mother, who has Hashimoto's, has to take hers on a completely empty stomach in the morning and wait an hour before eating.

Yup, first thing in the am on empty stomach. Also, don't take it at same time as your multivitamin or with milk. Calcium inhibits absorption.

+2. I take it as soon as I wake up.

Also, my doctor has given me a dose between two pills. For example, once I was taking 75mcg 6 days a week and nothing on the seventh day. Ask your doctor if you can do something like that.

Or switch between the two doses each day. Or just the 112 M-W-F. Or twice a week?

OP, I also would take the dose the dr recommended based on your levels. You may want to try an anti inflammatory diet. I feel much better when I stick to it. There is a strong link between thyroid issues and other autoimmune issues.

March 2014--2.82 (on 100mcg)

July 2014--.182 (on 112 mcg)

Sept 2014--.126 (on 112 mcg)

Nov 2014-- 1.06 (after going back to 100 mcg)

Your TSH was too low on 112 mg.
Hyperthyroidism is dangerous to your heart, eyes, and numerous other bodily symptoms. If you're not feeling well with levels in the normal range, seek another doctor, but intentionally making yourself hyperthyroid to lose weight is just stupid and unsafe.

So...bs.
Been there. Done that. I feel better and have much better quality of life when my levels are below .5. Not ideal according to the charts, but I am not alone in this.

The test results are guides, not absolutes.

Yes, but 0.5 is a far cry from less than 0.2, and many docs will only titrate down to 0.4 in certain cases. OP is WAY below that and in dangerous territory. The higher dose is basically making her hyperthyroid, which is just as bad as hypothyroid.
