Anti-semitic flyers in Suburban Maryland

But, I wonder how the Pam Geller supporters that frequent this forum will react. Isn't this simply an expression of freedom of speech?

Just stop. You have no credibility. There is no comparison between conspiracy theories about a Jewish cabal and Geller's opposition to the violence and stifling social norms promoted by a brand of Islam. Although, wanting pro-Israel politicians to be removed from office is a totally valid political position.

I apologize. I had not realized that you had been appointed the judge of what is or is not valid speech. Had I know that, I would have cleared my remarks with you beforehand to ensure their validity.

I don't see it as more justified than Geller at all, just two pieces of junk."

It appears to me that someone is not dividing the issue clearly enough. Pamela Geller is pointing out that some Moslems have used violence against what is humorous. She is quite correct in noticing that. Using an approach that needlessly inflames hatred or puts people who are not directly concerned at risk is a foolish error, but not much more.

Anti-Semitism is quite ugly stuff. It is fundamentally wrong. By itself it is inflammatory. It should certainly be noted and discouraged. I am inclined to name and shame those who do such things. I would also note that while it is a central tenet of some forms of Islam, it is very widespread and by no means limited to Moslems.

Not only did Catholics save Jewish lives, many of them lost their own lives in the process.

My uncle was killed because his mother, my grandmother, was hiding orphaned Jewish children in her house.

Are you really this ignorant of history?

The fliers have also been found in the Martin's Addition area of Chevy Chase.

Can someone please post the text of these fliers?

They're were at every house around the corner from me in Shepherd Park. The listserv says that the content is a mishmash of thoughts/supposed quotes/ramblings. Some have said they've encountered the guy before and he seems to be mentally ill.

If you support Geller's right to free speech then you have no case to stop the distribution of anti-semitic flyers.

To me both are outrageous and despicable but one cannot pick and choose what are acceptable insults and falsehoods - and in the same breath support free speech.

Conservative here. Exactly.

I'd like to see the actual content, so we can judge for ourselves.

You haven't listened to enough of what she said.

What exactly are the police investigating? Were threats made in the leaflets? If not, I'm not sure what the investigation entails.

The police love to waste time and taxpayer money investigating non-crimes. Kids walking home together. A guy open carrying a gun in a state where that is 100% legal. A guy putting his opinions on paper and spreading them around. In between, they shoot dogs and suicidal persons who make them feel 'threatened'. They are a collective disgrace.

But maybe they want to get him for littering?

Gellar wants to display a cartoon on Metro showing two men talking. One says "You can't draw me" and the other says 'that is why I must draw you"
Can you please tell me why this is despicable? There is no incitement to violence, no stereotyping, nothing even anti-Muslim. By no standard can this be considered hate speech.
