Caillou means pebble or stone. Please don't ever name your child Caillou. |

If you need a "V" you could possibly get to Rocky from Veronica.
But I wouldn't worry too much about having the real name and the nickname match up. Give the kid a classic G or V name so that she has something available to put on the embassy wall if she ever becomes president, and then just call the kid "Rocky" |
Makes me think of broccoli. |
| Veronique |
| I actually once knew a girl with the nickname Rocky, her given name was Veronica. |
My friend's dad always suggests Big Ramona and Wilbur to everyone contemplating baby names.
|
| I have an aunt rocky whose real name is roxanne |
| Nickname does not have to derive from real name. |
| Roxanne |
| Another stupid parent. |
| I almost think it's better for the given name to be unrelated to the nickname in this particular instance. |
| Adrienne |
| Petra or Petula. |
Makes me think of unmarried teen mothers in the hood. |
Rachel or Rachael. Different spellings, same sound. No extra points. FWIW, she could have the name Genevieve and still use Rocky as a nickname. I don't see nns as shortened versions of a name, they stand alone. |
