Can't believe that I am the only one to comment on this. Since when are balls only good for boys? Ugh. |
The candy from the pinata
A balloon from the decor. Win-win. |

A Beanie Boo stuffed animal What Beanie Boos do boys like? If I can only find girly beanie boos, what's a good similar gift for boys?

$3 or $5 gift certificate to Sweet Frog. If you have no shows, you can still use them and won't have junk lying around your house. |
chapter books, craft/building kit, pool toys (love that idea - like the dive toys), agree with below five gift card, match box car/small lego set, action figure (or equal for a girl).
No more bubbles, play dough, food (gets tossed), stuffed animals (kid hates them), weapons, stickers, crayons, coloring books |
How much do you want to spend?
The mini lego sets that are around $5 were a big hit and my DS last party. We bought both "girl" and "boy" sets - we just returned what we didn't give out. |
I bought cheap fishing nets. It was a family birthday party and we had kids from 2 years old to 9 years old. They all loved the fishing nets. |
I bought bubble wands to give for DD's.
Simliar to this... http://www.walmart.com/ip/Little-Kids-Fubbles-Bubble-Wands-24pk/44726286 |
OP - hooray for taking a step away from goody bags!
I dislike them because we like to celebrate with as many of dd's friends as possible but then we end up with pile of unwanted trinkets that it would be rude to leave behind but that we then need to either keep as clutter or find a way to pass along. If you really want to give a party favor, I'm with those who are suggesting clutter-free ideas like gift cards for an ice cream, balloon from the party decor, or something like that. (So I also disagree with those suggesting stuffed animals, cookies, toys, etc. as alternatives.) |
At my son's 6yo party with both boys and girls attending I just gave them bags which they filled with pinata stuff. Nothing in addition to that. |
Ugh, enough with the bubbles and sidewalk chalk too |
Books. I've had several parents thank me. |
A cheap kit to make a kite. |
Books. Absolutely. |
$5 gift card to a local ice cream shop. Always a hit. |
