If you have a DC their could you post info on diversity of the programs and events/trips, etc. for the program students? I am on the fence because I don't know if my DD will get in to the first grade because she was in the 30s for the wait list. I haven't spoken to anyone yet since it is the weekend but I think she may move up bc of the sibling link, but don't know if it will be enough.I think his number was high but I don't remember and can't find the paperwork. Please assist if you have any insight, it would be greatly appreciated.
If I understand your post, your K-er got in off the waitlist, and your 1st grader is still on the waitlist in the 30s? Unfortunately, the sibling link only works for the younger kid, so if your 1st grader got a spot, then the K-er would have sibling preference. At least that's my understanding, though the immersion office can confirm. In the 30s for a 1st grade spot seems unlikely because there is much less movement in 1st grade on the waitlist.
We are not at RT and are just starting K, but one of the kids in our DC's preschool is starting at RT in K, and his older sibs have been there already. His mom was happy with the immersion program, but I don't know more details than that. [/quote
That's true it is the reverse. Thank you! I guess we will have to immerse her ourselves during the school year, reapply and hope she gets a spot the next school year. Now I need to find out the extent and difficulty of the entrance exam just in case their is an opening at one of the schools in grade 2. She is I think #9 at Burnt Mills. Maybe something will come up there. He (my K) received a spot but declined it. Thanks again for the information.
