| Our EOTP dual language prek3 class took a new student in January. |
| If you do get off a waitlist late, is it the aftercare generally full already? |
Depends on the school. If it's a privately-provided aftercare then you may be fine. If it's a DCPS-run aftercare (at the highest poverty DCPS), then you may not get a spot. |
| Excellent question about aftercare. I hadn't considered that. |
| We got called off a waitlist in mid September |

| Did you take the spot in Jan? How was your child's adjustment? Thank you. |

We are fairly sure someone left Basis for Latin after count day
the year Basis opened it took kids after count day I don't know what they did last year, but I hope they continue to do it if kids want to come because they only take 5th and 6th graders and being there in 5th grade is a real advantage....... |
| Please no one is getting offered a spot off the wait list if someone moves in December at most charters. That's a loophole and lots of families get their foot in the door at that point - because they've made themselves known to the principal. |
If you are implying that this is what happened at Yu Ying, you are wrong. They are sticklers and if the principal let someone in disregarding the waitlist (which the principal would not do), EVERYONE will know and no end to the complaints. Families move usually due to job changes and Yu Ying lets kids in midyear bc they can't take new students after 2nd grade. |
Someone left BASIS for Latin after count day? Impossible for last year. Even those in single digit waiting list could not get in. |
I think that child actually left BASIS for Latin right before count day. Two Rivers has taken kids after count day. I know of at least two instances in the last few years. |
