Is there any help from Shepherd Elementary, PTA, or other with preparing for PK3 next Fall?

There are parent volunteers and in some cases school staff that are spending time putting this stuff together for you. As someone who contacted new families earlier this week and has yet to have any of them acknowledge the effort or say TY, it's off-putting to say the least. So when you do attend the whatever event your school puts on, please say thank you and show some appreciation.

Off my soapbox.

We recently enrolled our DC for kindergarten at Shepherd. We're excited to join the school, and signed up for the PTA listserv, but we haven't received any welcoming emails or info about events. We certainly would have responded with thanks if we did.

Sorry, PP--Shepherd is a small school, and I don't think they've been in the habit of sending out welcome emails etc. soon after match day in the past. At least, I didn't get one last year, although the principal answered all questions I had via email (this is our first year). However, I spoke to the principal and some folks in the PTA, and I think they're going to try to do this next year.

In the meantime, welcome to the school! And look out for info about welcome activities in coming weeks.

Another Shepherd parent here. Welcome!

It's a great place.

OP, if you're still around, Pop in and Preview Day for new families will be Friday, June 12th. You should receive something about it via both snail mail and email later this week.

Welcome!
