+1 wonder if we know one another
|
| I turned down ITS last year because I preferred to stay at Maury. Convenience was definitely a significant factor, plus my child would have been upset about leaving friends. |
+1 this was us last year. IT just didn't wow us like we assumed it would. |
| Anyone choose private instead? |
Funny. ITS impressed us the most. Even though we really wanted Spanish, we ended up ranking ITS #1. Where did you go instead? |
| Turned down ITS, CMI, Two Rivers, and Logan for MV last year. |
You got into all of them via lottery? Only one kid? Which school did you rank #1? |
| The reason people lined up for Yu Ying was for a good spot on the waitlist. None of them would get in without someone turning it down. |
+1 Although it will be interesting to see how many turn it down now that you actually have to rank it high to get in at all (or have an insanely good number if you don't rank it high). 3 years ago I think they went into the 20s or 30s on the PK4 waitlist. So yes, people do turn popular schools down, although again it will be interesting to find out (probably only on DCUM, since the lottery doesn't publish it) how far down the waitlist the schools in the original post seem to go. |
+1 Another family that turned down CM. Glad people are happy there; we're happy too at a different school. |
| Turned down LAMB for CMI |
| Turned down MV for SWS. Happy other than the Loss of a DCI feed. But, it'll work out some how. |
And we did the opposite! Maybe we got each other's spots
|
| Turned down MV, lee and ITS for CMI. |
I ranked MV #1 and got in off the WL, but got calls for all of these. |
