The Goldbergs - anyone watch it?

My older kids are 11 and 7. My 7 year old loves it. He's also a big fan of Ferris Buehler.

Never ever ever miss an episode! Along with:

The Middle and Blackish. My kids hardly ever watch TV but Wednesday nights are sacred in my house because of those 3 shows.

Modern Family on the other hand has totally jumped the shark!

I also love The Middle.

I love how it's a normal family and how the parents accept their quirky kids as is.

Love the Goldburgs! I was a child of the 80's so I love all the little references to 80's culture. Couldn't stop laughing during the episode where Barry was wearing the color-changing t-shirt! (What were those called? Hyper-color or something like that?) And the Ferris Beuller episode was by far the best!
I avoided this show at first because I thought it would be corny but now I don't miss an episode
Also like the Middle, reminds me a little of Malcolm in the Middle which I liked when it was running.
Still a fan of Modern Family too but couldn't get into Blackish and Fresh off the Boat is a real stinker.

My people! I was VERY surprised to like both the Goldbergs and Blackish. Most new sitcoms are such duds. Also agree that Modern Family has jumped the shark and Fresh Off the Boat was a miss.

I love the Middle. I only started watching it this season but then I discovered that Hallmark p?ays the old seasons back to back in the evenings and I've been watching those as well.

How old are your kids? I have a 9 year old and don't know if this is too old for her (so we watch it on hulu at night when they are asleep).

we watch as a family too (ages 7, 9, and 11) we also love the middle, blackish and fresh off the boat

agree. that person must not understand the humor. Blackish is by far - BY FAR - the funniest sitcom on the air. Followed closely by The Goldburgs and The Middle. Fresh off the Boat is hit-or-miss. Modern Family needs to go away, its past its shelf life. That shark jumped two years ago IMHO.

PP you need to watch it from the very beginning so you can understand the character development. Each of the kids is unique and I see a little of my kids in each of them, especially Brick!

Come on. Fresh off the Boat is good too. I'm so glad to watch The Middle, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, and Blackish on wednesday. I wish there were some way to fit Fresh off the Boat in there without squeezing out any of the others. Maybe they could alternate Modern Famiy--one week on one week off. These shows are great and you can watch them with your teens--just like back in the 70's watching All in the Family and Mash and Mary Tyler Moore. I love it! I hate reality shows--so glad halfway decent sitcoms are back!

Wow. So you don't like shows with ethnic people and you won't watch a show with gay characters. Whatever. You're missing some pretty good show--but you'll never admit it's because of your stupid prejudice. Those shows are entertaining. You could learn some positive and funny things about other cultures.

Blackish and the Goldbergs are the two funniest sitcoms on TV right now. The Middle is still good and Fresh off the Boat is a great premise and just needs funnier writers--I hope they give the show time to develop. The Goldbergs was super corny at first--but then it hit a stride. Blackish was hilarious from day one IMO.
