Would You Use This Name?

Name ettiquete is funny isn't it?

I actually purposefully avoided looking at an old Christmas Card because I knew my friend from highshools third child had a name similar to the one we wanted to use. I couldn't remember if it was in fact the name. So I just didn't look, because I knew if I did, I'd feel too guilty to use it. I looked after we named my son, and it was a different name.

The silly part is all we do is exchange Christmas Cards at this point.

Use the name. I think the only time it is really confusing is if you have two cousins close in age or close friends that will be over all the time. Even then, the kids might even get a kick out of having the same name.

I'm really pissed!

Pregnant with #1. We selected the name even before getting married.

now, that the baby is about to pop out my cousin named her DOG with my child's name.

she knew it, since we've been calling the baby by the name from the day we knew the sex.

again, I'm soooooooooooooo pissed!!!!!!!!

Seriously, use the name. Correct anyone who says "you named the baby after the dog...". Just say "no, the dog was actually named after the baby."

That is just mean, to take a name and use it for your dog. Does this cousin not like you or just think it is funny?

I wouldn't worry about it.

Who cares if you did even "steal" the name? Everyone gets the name they like from somewhere. Why does it matter if its from a book, a movie, family legacy or a friend? Do I love the idea of my friends and I all having little "Joeys"s? No. But ultimately, whats the difference?
