Even if they didn't earn it? Like everyone gets a trophy thing? |
There is this wonderful thing called a job that provides money to do things like getting a tattoo and seeing a movie and all sorts of other stuff. |
Some people also believe that your job should also provide money for forced charity. ![]() |
Hmm, I generally think it is all very mean spirited...
However, my heavily tatted BIL and the dumb creature he procreated with do shit like spend the money they do make on getting tats rather than paying their bills or feeding their kids. And they've taken budget classes - FIL paid for them to attend Dave Ramsey classes. Didn't make one bit of difference. |
Poor people are often poor because of poor choices. |
Tattoos amd gambling are dignified in the eyes of the Catholic church? |
That's funny and true. Because it was the poor in Kansas who elected the Tea Party Gov and the Tea Party heavy legislature. Lo and behold, the Tea Party led government cut a lot of services that the poor folks that elected them relied on. Oh, and no one CHOOSES to be poor. |
Technically Catholics aren't supposed to get tattooed |
Yes it's undignified even if they are bad habits. It says to the vast majority of non gamblers: you are poor, so you can't be trusted anymore. in Missouri they want to restrict food purchases. No fish for you! |
No they don't choose it sweetheart but their life choices certainly don't help. |
Do you think maybe states are doing this because they can't shoulder the financial burden anymore so they are trying to make cuts somewhere? I thought welfare was supposed to be for food and shelter not the frivolous anyway? |
OP, it seems like your primary criticism of this policy is that it is "mean." That's not really a cogent policy argument. |
It's smart. It runs the morons out of the state to liberal states that tolerate every kind of bs. Everybody gets what they want . |
Allowing people to make their own choices, is an important For people who rely on public assistance for everything, there are already many restrictions. Food stamps, WIC, medicaid, housing assistance, daycare subsidy . . . All of these forms of aid are targeted to specific needs. Cash benefits through TANF are usually a small portion of the package. Allowing people to make their own choices, and allocate this portion of their resources as they see fit, is appropriate. |
Not mean at all. Very responsible. If you can have the same benefits - entertainment, etc., why even work? |
