Anyone have local family and NOT spend Easter/holidays together

You have the right attitude. Those that want to be there make the effort. We don't attend my BIL's family events because they are stressful for our child and they always serve the dinner too late. I wish he wouldn't get bent out of shape that we don't attend.

That is definitely a pet peeve of mine. If you tell guests that dinner is at a certain time, it should be at a certain time. I don't need cocktail hour, unless its a wedding!
