Should we offer money to gracious friend who offered to adopt deceased relative's dog?

A friend of mine has me in her will to take her 2 cats with an appointed sum of money. Not kidding.

We have a provision in our will that will provide a sum of money to whomever takes our dog from the three people we named (we named three people becuase we realized people's situations can change). The amount of money to be provided will depend on the dogs' ages, more is provided for later years than earlier ones.
