Agreed. I also feel bad for the boy. Don't really know enough to know anything about these kids -- whether they're nice kids who just messed up or what. At any rate, it's a hard thing for anyone that age to have to confront in the glare of the public spotlight. But if they're not compatible, I'm relieved to know they're not getting married. No reason to put a kid through a shotgun marriage. |
| Unfortunately he did get that Bristol tattoo on his ring finger..D'oh! |
|
Oh, I feel badly for both of them. I wonder what Bristol's real choices actually were in any of this, to begin with? Did she want to keep the baby? Did she really want to get married? And what about the boy? Even when this sort of thing happens to the family down the street I always think it's a shame people can't mind their own business -- because that kind of scrutiny just makes everything seem worse. But imagine what these poor kids are going through, so young, with an entire nation watching.
BTW, lots of sort of meanspirited jabs at a woman dealing with a hard situation (Bristol). I'm as lefty as they come, but isn't that pushing it a little bit? I detest Sarah Palin, but damn, give her kid a break. I sure wouldn't want my kids to be the proxy for all of my flaws...and I'm sure you all wouldn't either. |
| Who paraded Bristol on the national stage at the Convention etc? It was her mother that is to blame for turning her daughter's decisions into a political issue, not some random snipers on DCUM. |
ROFLMAO!!!!!!! |
|
Yea, like the DCUMs are doing any better. Look at the pathetic marriages most of you ladies are in. Verbally, Physically, Emotionally abusive husbands. Husbands who are lazy and don’t lift a finger in the house and a bunch of cheaters who get sleazy text messages and then you wonder...hmmmm..."do you thing DH is having an affair?". At least they are smart enough to break up early and not expose their children to the misery of living in a household with unhappy parents.
Need I pull the dozens of threads to show what a bunch of hypocrites you are? |
AMEN!! Judge not lest ye be judged! |
perhaps something for the religious right to consider the next time they want to tell others how to live their lives and whether or not they can marry? |
This is very unfair. Most of the women you are berating did everything right - did NOT get pregnant before marriage, did NOT have affairs, whether liberal or conservative, have been true to "traditional" family values. And through no (or little) fault of their own, it is the MEN who have behaved unconscionably. It is the Right, not to mention old-fashioned mother in laws, plus the usual troll known variously as "inarticulate foreign born former nanny", who are urging these women to stay in bad marriages, no matter how bad the abuse. A hypocrite is "a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion". How are the victimized wives you are slamming in your nasty post HYPOCRITES? Perhaps fools, perhaps naive, gullible, cowardly, hell even stupid. But hypocrites? Bristol is a hypocrite IF, that is IF, she claims to agree with her mother's abstinence stance and the importance of children being born to married couples. Personally, I do not agree with this conservative family value, and therefore, am not a hypocrite. What about you poster? What are your beliefs on sex before marriage, illegitimacy, and divorce, and despite those beliefs - ever been guilty of being less-than-perfect??? |
That doesn't mean we have to lower ourselves to Sarah Palin's level. |
If you follow the news you see that Bristol Palin recently came out witha statement that abstinence for teens was totally unrealistic. Give the poor girl a break. She's 18. I would hate to think what you leftist freakshows were doing when you were 18. Aren't you glad you weren't in a position for it to come back and bite you in the ass? |
Oh, snap! |
Huh? Of course NOW she is saying abstinence for teens is unrealistic. It sure was unrealistic for her. For the record, when I was 18 I was in college. Not having unprotected sex. Sorry to disappoint you. |
Too bad that they weren't "smart enough" to use some birth control or not have sex as teens in the first place. A child's life with parents who are not together is not exactly ideal either. |
Speaking of freakshows, too bad we can't all be upstanding and moral conservatives committed to the sanctity of marriage like Bob Barr, David Vitter, Newt Gingrich, and Ted Haggard. |
