Grandparents and sleeping babies

She insisted she'd hold him while he slept (which seemed fine because it's what we do for many naps) and then told us about dozing off matter of factly afterwards. First, she said he'd slept while they were on the bed (I don't know if she was lying down or sitting or what) and then they moved to their glider/rocker, which is where they "napped together". I was a little taken aback and didn't know what to say, and she said "Oh, don't worry, nothing would have happened!"

I felt weird about it at the time, but honestly didn't know how concerned I should be or what to say in the moment. I wanted to get a reality/normality check here.

Thanks for all the feedback!

You do this for many naps? Sounds stupid.

If she fell asleep in the middle of the day with a baby that she is not used to watching, I'm sorry, but I'd be really upset. I also wouldn't leave baby there again.

Agree. Wouldn't leave my baby with her.

I would assume this would happen every time and I would not have her babysit.

Not a very nice thing to say. Lots of folks enjoy snuggling sleeping infant babies. I don't see how it makes them stupid.

Especially since she laughed it off.
